A Gift Guide for the Old Soul

A Gift Guide for the Old Soul

When you wear an intentional piece of jewelry from Autumn Jade Studio, you will be wrapped in feelings of inspiration, empowerment, and support.

This year I have taken the liberty of compiling some of the best gift ideas for those old souls we know and love who are enchanted by the starry night sky and stones with a trove of legends behind them.

Below you will find stone recommendations to create custom jewelry pieces that will invoke curiosity, awe, and mysticism, as well as a perfectly paired candle scent that will take you back in time and deep into your imagination.

Labradorite

Perfect for deflecting unwanted energies, Labradorite is known as a bringer of light and can help you connect to your purpose.

With this stone, you will be able to tune into your intellectual and spiritual wisdom, as well as your intuition.

Ideal for calming overactive minds and offering quiet introspection, Labradorite is a wonderful stone to work with if you are ready to find your purpose in life.

The Lore of Labradorite

The Native American Innu people, similar to the Eskimo Inuit people, referred to Labradorite as the “fire stone” because of its resemblance to the northern lights and the inner beauty it held. Both tribes held a mutual appreciation for this gemstone and its magical properties.

Legend says that an Inuit warrior discovered the astounding array of colours inside Labradorite and believed that the lights of the Aurora were trapped within the stone.

Breaking the stones open with his spear, he freed the lights to the skies in which they belonged to. The light that remained on Earth then stayed within the Labradorite gemstones.

More tales have been told about this mystical stone, including the belief that the stars that lived beyond the Aurora once lived inside Labradorite, supporting the ancient perception that an incredible, astronomical beauty lay inside the gemstones beneath our feet.

Prehnite

Even old souls need healing. Seen as powerful healing tools, Prehnite stones work through the heart chakra to revitalize and rejuvenate your spirit.

Embodying a peaceful and nurturing energy, this stone will clear and calm your energy field and is excellent for opening blocks in awareness and promoting change in your thoughts and feelings.

Prehnite also holds manifestation properties, but not in the typical sense. You may find this stone useful for restoring belief and trust in universal manifestation.

Moonstone

There are a few different moonstone varieties, each has it's own unique properties but all are connected to the moon.

Carrying the energy of the full moon, White Moonstone is said to stimulate psychic perception, visions, and dream work.

Believed to magnify your emotions and activate the Kundalini energy in women and emotional balance in men, this stone also aids children in driving away nightmares and insomnia.

Rainbow Moonstone acts as a prism and will diffuse energy throughout your aura. Providing psychic protection, it also clears the mind and senses and aids in lucid dreaming and calm slumbers.

This vibrant stone will also deflect negativity and can help to ease emotional trauma.

Grey or Black Moonstone are known to carry the mysteries and powers of the new moon, where all things exist as potential.

Moonstone Lore

Ancient Romans believed that this stone was formed from moonlight, and that if you look closely, you’ll see a dance of light that dwells inside the gem.

Merging the names of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, and the Goddess of the Moon, Selene, the Ancient Greeks christened Moonstone as “Aphroselene”, while the Ancient Romans believed that the gem exhibited the image of their moon goddess, Diana.

When worn by two people, Moonstone is thought to be an aphrodisiac that will have the wearers fall passionately in love when the moon is high. It was also once called the “Traveler’s Stone”, as it is said to protect those who travel at night, especially by sea.

For those looking for other ways to be brought back in time, burning the candle below will have you drifting further into your imagination and diving into stories from far away lands.

Folklore – Tonka Bean, Jasmine, Patchouli, and Vanilla

Deep within the heart of a forgotten forest, where ancient trees whisper secrets and the moon bathes the world in a silvery light, lies a place where stories of old come alive.

This is where you will find Folklore.

Inspired by the boundless wonders of books and the enigmatic world of mythology, an alchemist gathers precious ingredients with reverence.

Tonka Bean, an elusive treasure that lulls the senses with its warm and seductive charm. Like an ancient spell it weaves its enchantment, inviting you to embark on a journey through the pages of time.

Jasmine, an ethereal bloom that hold secrets of love and romance. Its aroma

mingles with the tonka bean, conjuring up images of moonlit trysts and star-crossed destinies.

The heart of Folklore, though, lies in the earthy embrace of Patchouli. A scent that speaks of mystique and untamed wildness. Like a book filled with untold legends, its scent awakens the spirit, beckoning you to explore.

Lastly, the alchemist adds vanilla. Like a sprinkle of stardust that brings a comforting warmth to end the tale. It wraps the entire fragrance up in a cocoon of nostalgia, as if you’ve always known this scent.

As the wick ignites, a soft glow fills the room. It is not just a candle; it is an invitation to step into a world where mythical creatures roam, ancient gods whisper in the wind, and heroes rise from the embers.

This is the magic of Folklore.
